"HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles" (hondasfordsvolvo)

This is the wrong time of day for one of these, and the wrong time of the week, but I can’t sleep do here we are.
Anyway, let’s see what we can find with the key words “project car” in your classifieds website of choice. I found a couple 80s Germans that are both pretty cool.
The first on is this LS twin turbo 944. Sans headlights
Second this e21 with flares, a cool roof spoiler. And a turbo

One more for good measure. This is one cool mini truck.

First up: a WRX-swapped Impretzel coupe with rod knock and rotting sills. $4k.
Next is a DeLorean with a slipping trans . $ 19k but comes with a “known good” spare trans.

That Impreza looks great from 15ft away. To the right person it could be worth it to get the rust repair done.
Im pretty sure Deloreans came with Broke n transmissions from the factory.

I like your options better, but here’s what I got:
This is a single person fishing float/ pontoon. It used to have pontoons on each side but going down the river hitting rocks over the years tore them off. I then put car inner tubes on it and that worked for awhile. I now have large styrofoam sheets that I was going to attach but the fact is I have to many projects and must get rid of some. This is a fun pontoon. It’s a metal frame with a rod holder and holders for paddles, a plastic seat and a pulley to haul a minnow bucket if you use one. You get the pontoon and the styrofoam sheets. $40

Project Winky
This car may be a project for someone but not for me. I have too many other things going on and the car needs more than I can do. The engine runs but there is a large oil leak. The car will go in gear and move but there is a stuck brake or two. The car has lots of rust. I do have a clear title. The engine might be a good candidate for a rebuild or for another car. Come see and make offer.
Many folks have asked for extra photos so I have added more. There is significant rust along the door rails and some other locations. Wiring is shot. Will take some work. Send me an email if still interested. Make offer.only $1000

Why put the turbos there! You could put them anywhere, but the headlights really only have one natural place! You’re just deliberately limiting the ability of the car!
The interior of that minitruck is sick

I think I’d take a pass on the first two, but the truck seems decently thought through, and finished. It’s not to my taste, but compared to the other two it’s quite good.

Thank you for this post. I was up around then (2am Eastern) but made crepe batter instead. After too many day naps I am trying to get on a normal sleep schedule. Reading a book where the main character has a little whiskey before bed. Figured I would try that at 10:30, almost worked. Was up in the middle of the night so figured I would prep for breakfast the next day with the crepe batter.
Also, to the point, I had checked out “ran when parked” CL search but forgot about the “project car” one and will try that later today.

Couldn’t hold of checking CL and I found this for $3,850
“I am Selling my 1971 Citroen DS21 project.
Car lived its entire life in Connecticut. Was running when parked in 1995.
The original owner passed away and the car was purchased by me to restore.
I recently also purchased a 1969 Firebird convertible and decided to no longer restore the DS21.
As you can see from the pics the car is all there. I have a video (taken this week, 3/30/2020) showing it running on starting fluid. If you want to see specific areas of the car or want to hear the car running call or txt me.
Since the car was kept in a garage it only has surface rust, see pics. Car is pretty solid.
Car has paperwork from Connecticut to get it registered. if your state requires a title, I can register it and give you the title.”

I’m guessing the turbos were put there mainly for the shock value. You could always put some headlights down in the bumper like an old road racing 911.
I also love that mini truck interior. Way better than a shag everywhere, or random fiberglass swoops with 17 speakers you’d usually see. Did a bit of googling starting with “cars with round chrome dash” and I found it looks like they cut the dash out of a 53 Pontiac Chieftain Delux . They took a simpler, probably smaller steering wheel tho.

I know how that is, i was getting there before I went back TL with. Thankfully for most of my quarantine I was also sick, sick enough that I was sleeping 12-18 hours a day so I was still sleeping a normal schedule, even tho I was was waking up at 10, taking an hour nap at noon, and going to bed at like 5-8pm
Right now I’m not sleeping because my wife is sick. Doesn’t seem like the Covid19 but I’m steeping on the couch and only going to our room to bring her food, drinks, or medicine. Our couch sucks for sleeping. Oh and we have a litter of kittens in the house that like to crawl all over me, and occasionally try to find a nipple in my beard lol.

That Citroen is nice. Reminds me of this thing I’ve been meaning to share here. This is a real car. There’s a full build thread did it.

I’m digging on this ‘65 Olds for $2k. FB is doing its best kinja impression when trying to get a link, but here’s a picture.
Full of the sound of the Gran Fury, signifying nothing.

Of all the engines available that would fit in that E21 he used an M20B25? It’s a decent enough motor in an E30, and overwhelmed by mass in the E34 (trust me, I know...), but even with a turbo it seems kind of, well, pedestrian. Given that E21s in other countries had the M20 from the factory it was probably an easy install, but still. Like transverse V6 engines, I have an automatic dislike of interference engines with timing belts. I never had any problems with mine, but I was meticulous about changing it. I guess that if you’re doing the whole project car thing you don’t have a problem getting your hands dirty, but I guess I'm just not the project car type anymore.

I found a couple options I kinda like, and naturally a lot of things that were examples of too much money for someone else’s project.
Here’s a couple I thought were good options.

I thought this was interesting. I don’t know a ton about these so I’m wondering about what all is involved in the idea of swapping the cab. Does that mean you’re driving around and hoping the amateur welds from Cousin Eddie hold together? Were these body on frame or unibody? I always assumed they were unibody, but won’t bother to research since I know someone here already knows.

That’s what I’m saying! The turbos are there for no good reason, but there are plenty of reasons not to put them there.
It must be harder than it looks to get a dash from another car to fit like that
